This is a respectful little hommage to Edith Piaf, & the magnificent chanson genre of literate, grown-up songs with which she worked such magic. The song also borrow a little trick played by Brecht at the end of "The Caucasian Chalk Circle" because it's up to the listener to decide what happens next.
